Naval Academy Cadets Provide Character Education to Natuna's Sekolah Rakyat Students
Taruna Akademi Angkatan Laut (AAL) are providing students of the Integrated Sekolah Rakyat (SR) 32 Natuna, Riau Islands Province, with character education through discipline coaching and good living habits in a dormitory environment. The Head of SR Terintegrasi 32 Natuna, Bumi, confirmed on Tuesday that the activity is part of the Ministry of Social Affairs’ efforts to strengthen the character building of students from an early age. “The material covers character, discipline, scouting, and good living habits in the dormitory. In Natuna, AAL cadets have been deployed,” he said. According to him, the material provided does not only focus on discipline but also includes the formation of attitudes, leadership, cooperation, and a sense of patriotism. He explained that character building is a priority at Sekolah Rakyat because the students undergo a boarding school education system, so positive behavioural habits must be applied in daily life. “The AAL cadets will be at SR from 3-7 August. Actually, the cadets’ target is all students, but currently it is being given to existing students. If the cadets have not returned home, they will also provide the same material to new students during the MPLS (new student orientation period),” he said.
