Natural Resource Exporters Required to Report to DSI Effective Today

The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, stated that natural resource exporters must report their export activities to PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) from June 1, 2026. Reporting will be done via the Customs Excise Information System and Automation (CEISA) 4.0 platform, operated by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) under the Ministry of Finance. Previously, exporters were only required to report to DJBC Finance Ministry through the same platform. ‘Implementation takes effect from June 1, 2026, as a transition period,’ Airlangga said at a press conference in Jakarta on Sunday, May 31, 2026. ‘Export activities will continue as usual for the respective companies, but exporters are required to report their export activities through or to PT DSI,’ he added. He said the initial phase of the new reporting mechanism will start with three export commodities: coal, ferroalloy (iron alloy), and palm oil. These were chosen as they are key contributors to Indonesia’s trade surplus, which has persisted for 71 consecutive months until March 2026. In 2025, these three commodities accounted for US$66.13 billion in exports, equivalent to 23.4% of total national exports. This included US$24.48 billion from coal, US$24.42 billion from palm oil, and US$16.49 billion from ferroalloy. Airlangga stated that the government will continuously evaluate the new mechanism during the first three months of implementation before full rollout from January 1, 2027. He expressed hope that businesses and exporters have sufficient time to adjust during the six-month transition period for the new export reporting mechanism. ‘This policy aims to ensure business certainty, smooth cargo flow, and respect for ongoing export realisations and contracts, in line with agreements between exporters and their trading partners,’ he added.
