Natural catastrophe

After the earthquakes happened in Alor and Nabire at the end of November, Indonesia still experiences many catastrophes. The Lion Air tragedy, which killed at least 26 people, added to the number of tragic deaths this year. Another one was the recent disaster in East Java with flooding in many regions. Many people lost their wealth, home, and loved ones.

As we know the same kind of calamity also happened at about the same time last year, but the government hasn't done anything to overcome these problems so that it doesn't happen in future.

They do not learn from past experience. Government is always late in giving attention to handling floods.

We have just seen what happened when the earthquake hit Alor. We could hear and feel their crying on the television as their world had ended.

Has not Indonesia been independent for almost 60 years? But why do roads, essential to deliver aid in such emergencies, remain such a problem in many secluded regions like Alor, Nabire, etc? It's time for the government to wake up. It's time for government to uphold justice so that grassroots people can live in prosperity.

We have known that the end of this year is the going to be a heavy rainy season. So the government should give as much information as possible or alert the search and rescue teams to minimize possible victims of floods.
