The Police Chief of Natuna, AKBP Novyan Aries Efendie, announced on Monday that the service is being provided as an effort to prevent theft during the Eid holiday season, when residents leave their homes for extended periods.

“For residents planning to travel for the holiday, please leave your vehicles and other valuables at the police station or precinct. This service is free of charge and we guarantee the security of deposited items,” he said.

In addition to providing vehicle storage services, police urged the public to remain vigilant against various potential criminal activities such as fraud and theft. According to him, the community is also expected to be wise in using social media, particularly by avoiding posting information that could indicate a home is empty.

For those undertaking long-distance travel in private vehicles, authorities advised checking vehicle condition beforehand to ensure safety during the journey.

“Ensure your vehicle is in good condition and roadworthy so that holiday travel can proceed safely and smoothly,” he said.

He also reminded the public that those requiring assistance or information can contact the nearest police office or call the police emergency line at 110, which operates 24 hours a day.

The Police Chief stated that this service represents a commitment to public safety and creating a sense of security during the Eid holiday period. He emphasised that police are committed to providing the best service to the community and invited all residents to maintain order and security in their environment.

“Avoid activities that can disturb public order such as illegal street racing and keep away from drug abuse,” he said.
