Natuna Education Office trains "daycare" to prevent violence
Natuna (ANTARA) - The Natuna District Education Office (Disdik) in Riau Islands Province is providing guidance to childcare centres or daycares operating in the area to prevent violence.
Head of the Early Childhood Education and Non-Formal Education Division of Disdik Natuna, Tarnadi, confirmed in Natuna on Monday that the guidance activities were carried out by visiting the daycares directly on Monday morning.
The guidance is delivered through direct education to caregivers and owners regarding good parenting patterns and ways to create a safe and comfortable childcare environment for children.
During the activities, Disdik Natuna also inspected the facilities and infrastructure available at the daycares.
“We routinely monitor the operation of daycares in Natuna and have formed a communication group among daycare managers,” he said.
He added that the establishment of daycares follows the technical guidelines for their operation issued by the Directorate of Early Childhood Education Development, Directorate General of Early Childhood Education and Community Education, Ministry of Education and Culture in 2015.
“Daycares are required to obtain operational permits, starting from administrative requirements, technical aspects, legal entity, estimated funding data for the sustainability of the childcare centre, to documents outlining plans to achieve operational standards within a maximum of five years,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Head of the Child Protection and Rights Fulfilment Division of the Natuna District Empowerment Office for Women, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning, Cici Anggresta, said that although primary supervision lies with Disdik, her office is also working to create child-friendly daycares.
