NATO deploys troops for Strike Back 26 exercise in Bulgaria

The Bulgarian Ministry of Defence has confirmed that highways and railway lines will be used to transport personnel and military equipment for the Strike Back 26 exercise involving NATO forces. The tactical live-fire drill will involve armed forces from Bulgaria, Romania, the United States, and Turkey, as well as NATO battle groups. ‘Personnel and military equipment movements along Bulgarian highways and railways are expected to occur between 26 May and 13 June 2026,’ stated the Ministry of Defence. The exercise will take place at the Koren Training Area near the southern city of Haskovo.
