Nat'l boxing c'ships in Purwokerto

SEMARANG (JP): The Indonesian Amateur Boxing Association's
(Pertina) Central Java chapter will stage the national
championships for pre-juniors, juniors and seniors in Purwokerto,
Central Java, from Oct. 3 to Oct. 5.

"I hope many clubs will compete in the championships
especially from regencies in Central Java," said the chapter's
chairman Kristanto on Tuesday.

"The championship is an opportunity for talent scouting to
help the chapter develop the sport."

The event also serves as a qualification for the National
Boxing Championships in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, from Oct. 28
to Oct. 31. (har)
