Nationalism

Minister of Defense and Security Gen. Edi Sudradjat says
a sense of nationalism not only reflects that one is a part of
the nation, but also that one has to show loyalty to maintain the
integrity and identity of the nation. In this respect, to carry
out the process of modernization, three aspects of nationalism
are involved: sense, concept and spirit.

It was with the very spirit of nationalism, which bound the
varied people of the Indonesian archipelago together, that
enabled our founding fathers to succeed in building an Indonesian
state, which is free, united, sovereign, just and prosperous.
This spirit must be kept burning in the hearts of the people and
rekindled so as to imbue every aspect of the nation's life.
