National Vocational Training to Accelerate Workforce Skills

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, stated that the National Vocational Training is a government programme designed to accelerate workforce skills, ensuring they become increasingly adaptive to industrial dynamics.

“We want to expand public access to obtaining relevant applied expertise,” the Minister said in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.

The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has opened registration for Phase 5 of the National Vocational Training online via the Skillhub platform, which will remain open until 16 September 2026.

Yassierli noted that the rapidly changing industrial landscape requires workers to continuously update and improve their skills. Therefore, he stated that upskilling and reskilling are essential so that the national workforce can enhance competitiveness and meet labour market demands.

“All programmes are designed based on competency, ensuring that participants do not only master theory but also possess practical expertise ready to be applied in the professional world,” he said.

Furthermore, Minister Yassierli explained that priority for Phase 5 of the National Vocational Training will be given to job seekers, victims of layoffs (PHK), and aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly high school and vocational school (SMA/SMK) graduates.

“Through this scheme, participants are expected to increase their competitiveness to enter the labour market or possess the necessary skills to start their own independent businesses,” he added.

The registration process and the completion of the ‘Siap Latih’ assessment remain open until 16 September 2026. Participants who pass the initial selection must undergo an interview stage between 17–23 September 2026. The announcement of successful participants for PVN Batch 5 will be made on 24 September 2026.
