National Transportation Day 2026: Ride Transjakarta for Just Rp 1 Today, Valid All Day

In commemoration of National Transportation Day 2026, which falls on 24 April, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is introducing a special fare policy for the public. Residents can enjoy Transjakarta fares today, as well as other modes of transport, for just Rp 1. This policy also serves as part of the celebrations for Kartini Day, commemorated on 21 April. Thus, the public can utilise public transport all day at an extremely affordable cost. “We are providing this to help the public become more accustomed to using public transport,” said Pramono in an official statement on Thursday (23/4/2026). With these low fares, it is hoped that more residents will abandon private vehicles and switch to public transport. The provisions still refer to the Governor of DKI Jakarta Regulation Number 160 of 2016. This means there are no changes to the scheme for users who already receive free facilities. Throughout the first quarter of 2026, the number of Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta passengers reached 112.1 million people. This figure represents an increase of 7.99 percent compared to the same period last year, which recorded 103.8 million passengers.
