National Transport Day 2026: TransJakarta and MRT Fare Just Rp 1

Marking National Transport Day 2026, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is setting TransJakarta and MRT fares at Rp 1. The Rp 1 fare will apply on Friday (24/4/2026) from 05:00 to 24:00 WIB. Passengers must still perform tap in and tap out despite the Rp 1 charge. The goal is to allow all members of society utilising this programme to do so more freely. Director of Operations and Maintenance at PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Mega Tarigan, explained that even with the Rp 1 fare, MRT Jakarta’s operations will remain up to standard. “MRT Jakarta ensures that services continue to operate according to operational standards by maintaining reliability, safety, and user comfort during the implementation of the special fare. Operational readiness is also being prepared to anticipate potential increases in the number of users at all stations and trains,” said Mega, quoted from Kompas.com on Thursday (23/04/2026). The Rp 1 fare applies to all TransJakarta services, including Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and non-BRT. This programme is held to welcome National Transport Day 2026. The commemoration of National Transport Day also serves as a momentum to encourage the public to use public transportation. TransJakarta continues to improve and is committed to providing safe, comfortable, and inclusive public transportation services. Meanwhile, Mikrotrans, TransJakarta Cares (Transcare), and free services for beneficiary customers will continue to operate at Rp 0 fare.
