“Safe Homecoming, Happy Families” is the tagline affirmed by the Head of the National Traffic Police Corps (Kakorlantas), Agus Suryonugroho, in anticipation of this year’s Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return traffic flows. The tagline conveys the message that safety during travel is the primary key to bringing happiness when reuniting with family during the holiday. Without safety, that happiness cannot be complete.

The call follows direct instructions from the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, for all ranks of the Indonesian National Police to provide maximum service to the public and ensure the security arrangements for the mudik period run optimally, humanely, and professionally. The tagline is planned to be officially launched on 3 March 2026.

With the spirit of “Safe Homecoming, Comfortable Journey, an Even More Memorable Eid”, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho urged all Indonesians to make the mudik moment a safe, orderly, and awareness-filled journey. He stressed that safety must be the top priority for every traveller.

Mudik is not merely an annual tradition but a sacred moment for strengthening family bonds. The public is therefore urged to prepare their journeys thoroughly, ensure they are in good physical condition, that their vehicles are roadworthy, and that all driving documents are in order.

The Kakorlantas also emphasised the importance of traffic discipline, obeying road signs and officers’ directions, and not pushing on when fatigued. The National Police, together with all stakeholders, have prepared various traffic engineering measures, security posts, and integrated services to guarantee the smooth flow of homecoming traffic.

“Safety is a shared responsibility. Order on the roads determines the safety of oneself and others. Let us make this a safe homecoming so that families are happy and Eid is truly memorable,” he stated.

Through synergy between officers and the public, it is hoped that the homecoming and return traffic flows will proceed smoothly, with minimal accidents, and in an atmosphere of order and empathy. In this way, the spirit of Safe Homecoming, Happy Families can truly be realised across Indonesia.
