National Shopping Programme 2025 Records Transactions Worth Rp393.79 Trillion
The Ministry of Trade recorded that the National Shopping Programme 2025, implemented in collaboration with various business associations, successfully booked a transaction value of Rp393.79 trillion throughout the year. Minister of Trade Budi Santoso stated that this achievement demonstrates that Indonesian public consumption continues to grow and serves as the main driver of trade in the domestic market. “Throughout 2025, the total transaction value recorded from this programme was Rp393.79 trillion. This figure is certainly not just a statistic, but a real picture that public consumption in Indonesia is still growing in a continuously moving domestic market,” Budi said during a working meeting with Commission VI of the House of Representatives discussing the Central Government Financial Report for the 2025 State Budget, which was followed online in Jakarta on Thursday.
To boost public consumption of local products, the Ministry of Trade provided assistance to 38,356 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) throughout 2025 through three main empowerment focuses. These included enhancing competitiveness, which reached 34,746 MSMEs; expanding market access for 2,222 MSMEs through exhibitions and partnerships; and campaigning for 1,389 MSMEs to become champions in their own country, including through the ‘Kamis Pakai Lokal’ (Thursday Wear Local) movement.
Meanwhile, through its flagship UMKM Bisa Ekspor (MSMEs Can Export) programme, the Ministry organised 622 business matching activities throughout 2025, involving 1,217 business actors with a total of 1,962 participations. These activities generated a potential transaction value of 134.87 million US dollars. The most sought-after MSME products included fishery products, home decor and furniture, coffee, health and body care products, spices, food and beverages, agricultural and plantation products, fashion, snacks, molasses, seaweed, coconut derivative products, and swimwear.
In the domestic trade sector, the Ministry continued to strengthen distribution governance through monitoring staple goods prices using the Market and Basic Needs Monitoring System, trade supervision to protect consumers, and the utilisation of the Warehouse Receipt System and Commodity Auction Market to ensure smooth goods distribution. As part of efforts to protect national industry, the government also implemented various trade protection instruments. Throughout 2025, Safeguard Measure Import Duties were applied to the textile and textile product sectors, including yarn and cotton fabrics, as well as ceramic products. Additionally, strategic products such as hot-rolled plate and nylon film received protection through Anti-Dumping Import Duties.
Minister Budi Santoso added that the Ministry of Trade continued to expand international market access through several trade agreements, including the Indonesia-Peru Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, the Indonesia-Canada CEPA, the upgrading of the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement, the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area, and the Indonesia-United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. The Ministry also won several trade disputes at the World Trade Organization covering commodities such as biodiesel, stainless steel, and palm oil products, and successfully resolved foreign trade barriers, saving potential export market access worth Rp7.34 trillion. Furthermore, trade promotion efforts were carried out through the 40th Trade Expo, which recorded transactions worth 22.8 billion US dollars, various exhibitions and trade missions, and the establishment of four export centres in Surabaya, Makassar, Batam, and Balikpapan.
