Director General of Regional Finance at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Agus Fatoni, stated that five national Samsat innovations can be implemented by regional governments to improve services and encourage public compliance in paying motor vehicle tax (PKB).

“To encourage public compliance in paying PKB, there are five national Samsat innovations that can be applied in the regions, namely service digitalisation, Samsat Drive Thru, Samsat Keliling (mobile Samsat), e-Samsat, and door-to-door services,” Fatoni said in Bandarlampung on Tuesday.

According to Fatoni, these innovations are expected to bring services closer to the public while simplifying the vehicle tax payment process. One innovation in Pekanbaru involves Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) cadres distributing Tax Notification Letters (SPT) directly from house to house while simultaneously collecting vehicle data.

“Additionally, several regions have implemented policies that encourage taxpayer compliance, such as requiring proof of PKB and Land and Building Tax (PBB) settlement for the disbursement of additional employee income (TPP),” he said. Fatoni added that other innovations applied in the regions include Saturday Night Samsat in West Java, which serves the public until 9 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, a five-yearly mobile Samsat in South Kalimantan, a floating Samsat in North Maluku to reach archipelagic areas, and Samsat Budiman (Digital Village-Owned Enterprises) in Central Java, which utilises village networks for vehicle tax services.
