Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo has announced that repairs to the national road in Parung, West Java, are targeted for completion within one to two months. The improvement work encompasses the road section from Pasar Parung to Kemang, and the minister noted that previous repair efforts had been piecemeal patching work that failed to deliver optimal results.

“We are currently undertaking repairs from Pasar Parung to the Kemang point in Parung. Previously there was some patching here and there, but it was not satisfactory. We are gradually perfecting it. Hopefully within one or two months this will be completed,” Hanggodo said during an inspection of the site in Parung, Bogor, on Saturday.

He identified weather as a major challenge to the work, as rainfall can halt construction and compromise road quality and longevity.

“The problem is the weather. When it rains, we must stop work so that the road quality we restore meets standards and can last a long time,” he explained.

Hanggodo instructed the Great Hall for National Road Implementation (BBPJN) of Jakarta and West Java not merely to apply temporary patches but to undertake comprehensive road repairs to ensure a smoother and safer surface for users.

“I am requesting the head of the office to, if possible, ensure the work is not just patching but carried out comprehensively from this point to Pasar Parung so that the road is smoother,” he stated.

He emphasised that accelerating repairs is essential to minimise disruptions to public mobility caused by construction activities.

“We are working on this and we are making every effort to be as swift as possible because repairs like this inevitably disrupt public movement,” Hanggodo said.

Despite budget efficiency policies, the Public Works Ministry is ensuring that national road preservation efforts continue. In 2026, the ministry’s budget of 118.50 trillion rupiah will focus on strengthening irrigation networks and improving regional connectivity to support food security and national economic growth.

The Bogor Regency Government has implemented operational hour relaxations for mining trucks in Parung Panjang through the end of December 2025 during the road improvement project. Meanwhile, warehouse demand in the Parung area has prompted KSO Unity Commercial Project to launch a modern warehouse area called Accord Bizpark Parung.
