National Police Traffic Corps Prepares Four Security Clusters for Ketupat Operation
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) is preparing four security clusters for Operation Ketupat 2026, which will cover the Lebaran (Eid) homecoming period in 2026. The Director of Registration and Identification (Dirregident) of Korlantas Polri, Brigadier General Pol. Wibowo, detailed that the four clusters are the arterial and toll road cluster, the places of worship and tourist area cluster, the crossing point cluster, and the homecoming movement point cluster, such as terminals, airports, and stations. “We have determined four clusters in this year’s Operation Ketupat security activities so that the handling can be more focused and measurable,” he said, as quoted from a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday. He also highlighted West Java as a point of fatigue for travellers coming from Sumatra, where toll roads often experience congestion. “Some of the problems we have identified for the West Java region include congestion on toll roads, especially at certain times, particularly at rest areas when people want to break their fast or rest,” he said. In addition, he said, Korlantas has also prepared situational traffic management on arterial roads, ranging from traffic diversions, contraflow, to one-way systems on certain sections. “One-way systems on certain sections, especially in areas with high traffic intensity but inadequate road infrastructure,” he explained. Furthermore, the one-star general emphasised that Operation Ketupat is not just a routine traffic security agenda, but a momentum for Korlantas Polri to provide maximum service to the public during the Lebaran homecoming and return traffic. “This is a moment for all of us to be present among the community, providing the best service in terms of security, comfort, and safety,” he said.
