National Police Traffic Corps opens possibility of implementing national one-way system for return flow
West Karawang, West Java (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) is opening the possibility of implementing a one-way traffic engineering system nationally from kilometre 414 to kilometre 70 on the Trans-Java Toll Road if there is an increase in vehicle volume during the return flow.
The Head of Korlantas Polri, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, in West Karawang, West Java, early on Saturday, said that they would first monitor the number of vehicles entering Jakarta.
“Whether it must be at kilometre 414 for the national one-way return flow phase two, or if there is no high surge (increase in traffic flow), we might shift it to one-way phase three. It could be in Batang, it could be in Kendal,” he said.
He also said that traffic flow on Friday (27 March 2026) was observed to be steady, so they are focusing on taking action against three-axle vehicles that violate the operational restrictions policy for goods transport.
“Instead, tonight we are concentrating on enforcing the Joint Decree (SKB). So, on the orders of the National Police Chief, we are urging three-axle logistics business owners not to travel yet,” he stated.
This enforcement action, he said, is being carried out to prioritise the mudik travellers who are returning home so that their journeys are safe and smooth.
Meanwhile, on Friday (26 March 2026), Korlantas Polri implemented the local Precision one-way system.
The first phase of the Precision one-way was applied from kilometre 132 of the Cipali Toll Road to kilometre 70 of the Cikampek Main Toll Road. This traffic engineering has been in effect since Friday morning.
The newly opened second phase of the Precision one-way is applied from kilometre 263 of the Pejagan Toll Road to kilometre 70.
