National Police Traffic Corps Implements Nationwide One-Way Scheme for Eid Return Flow, Note the Dates

The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) is preparing a nationwide one-way traffic engineering scheme for the peak return flow during Eid al-Fitr, predicted to occur on 24 March 2026. “On the 24th, based on the predicted return flow from traffic counts at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate, we will implement the national one-way scheme for the return flow,” said Head of Korlantas Polri Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho at the Command Centre Post at kilometre 29 of the Cikampek Toll Road in West Java on Friday, 20 March 2026. He explained that if vehicle volumes increase on 24 March, the one-way scheme would initially be implemented in segments starting from kilometre 414 at Kalikangkung, Semarang, Central Java. “It’s possible that we will implement the first stage of the segmented one-way scheme from kilometre 414 to the Pejagan Toll Road,” he stated. However, according to him, if vehicle volumes remain high, this traffic engineering would be extended to kilometre 70 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. Previously, the peak return flow for Eid 2026 or Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri is predicted to take place on 24 March 2026. With the government’s work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy, Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation Aan Suhanan urged the public to adjust their return times to their homes. “You can return on the 25th, 26th, 27th up to the 29th so that the peak flow can be spread across each day,” he said. This arrangement, he added, is solely to provide smoothness and comfort for all members of the public returning to their respective homes.
