National Police Traffic Corps Chief Opens ETLE Training for 2026, Step to Strengthen National Prosecution System
The Chief of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, has officially opened the Training for Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) Operators under the National Prosecution System for the 2026 Fiscal Year. This initiative is being conducted to strengthen the professionalism of traffic police in serving the public.
The event is taking place at the Ole Suites Hotel in Sentul, Bogor, West Java. The training is scheduled from 27 to 29 April 2026 and is attended by hundreds of Indonesian National Police personnel from various regional police commands across the country, who have been designated as ETLE operators.
The activity aims to improve the technical capabilities and professionalism of personnel in operating the ETLE system, particularly in its law enforcement (prosecution) function, so that the process of addressing traffic violations can proceed more effectively, transparently, and accountably.
In his remarks, Inspector General Agus emphasised that this training is part of the Indonesian National Police’s strategic steps to optimise the use of information technology in supporting modern and just traffic law enforcement. He also highlighted the importance of human resource readiness as the primary factor in the successful implementation of the ETLE system in the field.
In agreement, the Director of Law Enforcement (Dirgakkum) of the Traffic Corps, Brigadier General Faizal, stated that ETLE operators are the spearhead in the electronic-based law enforcement process. Therefore, enhancing competence and technical understanding is crucial to ensure the system operates optimally and delivers tangible impacts on traffic order.
During the implementation, participants receive briefing on ETLE system workflows, from capturing violations, data verification, validation, to issuing and sending confirmation letters to violators. Additionally, participants are provided with hands-on practice to ensure comprehensive understanding of the system used.
The event also introduces developments in ETLE devices based on the latest technology, namely handheld ETLE and drone ETLE. These two devices are presented to support flexibility and effectiveness in field law enforcement, where handheld ETLE allows officers to conduct enforcement mobilely, while drone ETLE functions for monitoring and addressing traffic violations from the air in real-time.
This activity also serves as a momentum to align perceptions and operational standards among ETLE operators throughout Indonesia, thereby creating an integrated, consistent, and sustainable system.
Through this training, it is hoped that the operators will be able to implement the ETLE system maximally in their respective regions, contributing to realising a culture of traffic compliance and reducing the number of violations and road accidents.
With the spirit of Precision, the Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police continues to commit to delivering modern, humane, and technology-based public services for the safety of all road users.
