Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chief of the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia, General Polisi Listyo Sigit Prabowo, stated that as many as 33 Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) belonging to the Polri are being built in the 3T (underdeveloped, lagging, and outermost) regions.

He also conveyed this to President Prabowo Subianto to ensure equitable nutritional fulfilment for the Indonesian people, through the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme.

“Polri is also building 33 SPPGs in the 3T regions as a form of support for expanding equitable access to nutritional fulfilment,” said Listyo in a written statement received in Jakarta.

The Chief of Police conveyed this to President Prabowo at the event for the simultaneous second-quarter corn harvest, the groundbreaking of 10 Polri food storage facilities, and the launch of the operationalisation of 166 Polri SPPGs in Tuban Regency, East Java, on Saturday.

In addition, he also stated that as many as 47 SPPGs are being built by Polri using compressed natural gas (CNG) to support energy resilience and the use of renewable energy.

“The use of CNG is a strategic step for Polri in supporting the more efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly operation of SPPGs,” he said.

According to him, this innovation is being carried out in accordance with President Prabowo’s mandate that producing food is a continuation of civilisation.

“We understand that providing food is an important foundation in building a healthy, strong, and competitive generation. Therefore, synergy from all elements of the nation is needed,” he said.
