National Police Narcotics Unit Destroys 34.5 Kg of Methamphetamine Evidence in Cilegon
The Narcotics Crime Directorate (Dittpidnarkoba) of the National Police Headquarters destroyed evidence from two narcotics cases, with a total weight of 34.5 kilograms of methamphetamine.
The evidence destruction was carried out at PT Wastec International, located in the KIEC industrial area, Cilegon, Banten, on Wednesday, 11 March 2025, in the afternoon. The destroyed evidence resulted from narcotics cases uncovered by the National Police Headquarters during February.
Kombes Zulkarnain Harahap, Deputy Director III of the Narcotics Crime Directorate, did not disclose detailed information about the cases from the evidence destroyed on that day. He only mentioned one case involving suspects Sonny Pentury and Iwan Wahyudi. Both suspects were brought to the destruction event.
“Evidence comprised 25 packages of green plastic packets inscribed with ‘Guanyinwang’, each containing crystal narcotics of methamphetamine type with a total weight of 24,763.77 grams,” Zulkarnain stated on Wednesday, 11 March.
The second case involved nine kilograms of narcotics evidence. However, no suspects have yet been named in that case.
“The finding consisted of nine green cardboard boxes, each containing crystal narcotics of methamphetamine type with a total weight of 9,827 grams,” he continued.
Before being destroyed, the narcotics evidence was first examined by the Forensic Laboratory Centre (Puslabfor) of the National Police Headquarters. The results confirmed that the crystal methamphetamine was positive for Schedule I narcotics, namely metamfetamine.
“Subsequently, all narcotics evidence was placed into an incinerator at PT Wastec, resulting in the destruction and incineration of the evidence,” Zulkarnain explained.
“The destruction process was carried out safely and smoothly,” he concluded.
