The Indonesian National Police’s Medical and Health (Dokkes) team has provided health examination services for residents of Rajeg District affected by smoke exposure from the fire at the Jatiwaringin Final Disposal Site (TPA) in Mauk, Tangerang Regency, Banten, which has been burning since Tuesday (30/6).

Tangerang Police Chief Kombes Pol Andi Muhammad Indra Waspada Amirullah stated that the health services were provided as a rapid response to the impact of the spreading smoke felt by residents in several areas around the TPA Jatiwaringin. He said the Dokkes team from the Tangerang Police unit had opened a community health service for affected residents since Friday (3/7). This initiative was carried out at the evacuation site in Kampung Jungkel, Tanjakan Mekar Village, Rajeg District.

Indra stated that the health service is part of the National Police’s commitment to assisting the community, particularly in emergency situations. He urged residents experiencing symptoms such as coughing, shortness of breath, eye irritation, or other health complaints to immediately seek examination at health facilities and to avoid outdoor activities unless urgent.

Additionally, Tangerang Police personnel continue to patrol and secure residential areas left vacant by evacuating residents, while coordinating with the local government and relevant agencies in handling the TPA Jatiwaringin fire. Indra emphasised that public safety and health remain the top priority.
