National Police Hold Pilgrimage to Strengthen Bhayangkara Devotion
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) held a national pilgrimage and flower-laying ceremony simultaneously at five locations as an effort to affirm the spirit of struggle and strengthen the commitment of its personnel ahead of the 80th Bhayangkara Day on 1 July 2026.
Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Polri Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Pol. Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, stated that the activity is not merely an annual tradition, but also a means of reflection for all Bhayangkara members in carrying out their duties of serving the community.
“This national pilgrimage and flower-laying ceremony is not just a ceremonial tradition, but a momentum for all Bhayangkara members to remember the services of heroes, emulate their values of struggle, and strengthen Polri’s commitment to serving the community, nation, and state,” Trunoyudo said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
“Entering eight decades of service, Polri is committed to continuing this spirit of struggle through professional, humanistic, and community-oriented service delivery,” he added.
Trunoyudo further stated that the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration also serves as a momentum to strengthen the institution’s dedication, integrity, and responsibility in maintaining public security and order, upholding the law, and providing the best protection and service.
The national pilgrimage and flower-laying ceremony was held simultaneously at five points: the Kalibata National Heroes’ Cemetery, Tanah Kusir Public Cemetery, Cikeas National Heroes’ Cemetery, the grave of General Hoegeng, and the waters of Jakarta Bay.
Similar activities also took place at other locations as a form of Polri’s respect for its predecessors and national figures who are considered to have contributed to the country and the police institution.
Overall, the activity involved 1,037 Polri personnel consisting of key officials from Polri Headquarters, the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob), the Polri Retirees Association (PP Polri), Bhayangkari, and civil servants within Polri, according to their respective assignments at each location.
Through this series of national pilgrimages, Polri seeks to preserve the values of struggle and devotion as a guide in carrying out its duties to protect, shelter, and serve the community.
