National Police Economic Crimes Directorate Forwards PT DSI Case Dossier to Prosecutors
Jakarta — The Special Economic Crimes Directorate of the National Police (Bareskrim Polri) has completed the first phase submission of investigation documents in the alleged fraud case involving PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI) to the public prosecutor.
“On Wednesday at approximately 12.00 WIB, the investigation team transmitted the investigation findings, packaged in case dossiers, to the prosecutor team at the Attorney General’s Office (phase I),” said Brigadier General Ade Safri Simanjuntak, Director of Special Economic Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He stated that the case dossier was submitted on behalf of three suspects: TA (Taufiq Aljufri), MY, and ARL.
Following this submission, the prosecutors will examine the case dossier within a seven-day period.
“Subsequently, the investigators will await the prosecutors’ findings at the Attorney General’s Office regarding the formal and material completeness of the investigation findings in the aforementioned case dossier,” he said.
Previously, the Special Economic Crimes Directorate had named three suspects. TA (Taufiq Aljufri) is the Managing Director and shareholder of PT DSI. MY is the former director and shareholder of PT DSI, as well as managing director of PT Mediffa Barokah Internasional and PT Duo Properti Lestari. ARL is a commissioner and shareholder of PT DSI.
All three are charged with embezzlement in office and/or misappropriation and/or fraud and/or online fraud and/or making false records in accounting or financial reports and/or without being supported by valid documents. They also face money laundering charges related to the channelling of funds from the public conducted by PT DSI using fictitious projects based on data or information from existing borrowers during the 2018–2025 period.
The total losses from this case are estimated at Rp2.4 trillion. All three suspects are currently detained at the National Police headquarters detention facility for investigative purposes.
