National Police Designate Owner of Nightclub in South Jakarta as Suspect in Narcotics Distribution Case
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Narcotics Criminal Directorate (Dittipidnarkoba) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) has arrested the owner and operational manager of the White Rabbit nightclub in connection with a narcotics distribution case at the venue.
Director of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, revealed that the two suspects are Alex Kurniawan, the director or owner, and Yaser Leopold Talahatu, the operational manager.
“On Wednesday, 18 March 2026, at approximately 4:45 PM WIB, the team successfully apprehended suspect Yaser Leopold Talahatu at RSUD dr. Chasbullah Abdulmadjid in Bekasi City,” Eko stated in his remarks on Wednesday (25/3/2026).
This case is a development from the initial uncovering of narcotics distribution at the White Rabbit nightclub, located in the Gatot Subroto area of South Jakarta.
In the initial bust, police had previously designated five suspects, comprising two dealers and three White Rabbit employees.
From the examination results, it was determined that the narcotics distribution practices at the entertainment venue involved management.
“Yaser, as the Operational Manager, played a role in giving approval for narcotics orders by guests through waiters/servers,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Alex Kurniawan is alleged to have known about and allowed the practices to continue. He is even said to have provided security guarantees for the illegal activities.
Based on interrogation results, Alex admitted to knowing about the narcotics distribution at White Rabbit since 2024 and allowing it to persist to keep the business bustling with visitors.
Yaser claimed to have known about the practices since late November 2025, including coordination of narcotics orders made by the supervisor to him.
Currently, both suspects have been brought to the Bareskrim Polri headquarters for intensive examination.
Investigators are also pursuing further developments to uncover a broader narcotics distribution network.
Bareskrim Polri reaffirms its commitment to firmly addressing narcotics distribution, including cases involving entertainment venue operators.
