Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Directorate of Narcotics Crime (Dittipidnarkoba) at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim Polri) has revealed that Miranti Afriana (MA), the wife of former Bima City police chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro (DPK), tested positive for drug use.

Director of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, said that in addition to Didik’s wife, a former subordinate of Didik named First Police Officer Dianita Agustina (DA) also tested positive for drug use.

“From the in-depth investigation of MA and First Police Officer DA, it was established that both were narcotics users. Investigators therefore conducted laboratory tests through the Bareskrim Polri Forensic Laboratory Centre on hair samples from MA and First Police Officer DA, which showed positive results for MDMA (ecstasy),” he said in Jakarta on Thursday.

Following the positive results, both women underwent assessment. The Integrated Assessment Team recommended that both undergo rehabilitation at the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Rehabilitation Centre.

Didik was named a suspect in an alleged drug possession case by the Dittipidnarkoba Bareskrim Polri on Friday (13 February).

Evidence seized included seven plastic clip bags of methamphetamine weighing a total of 16.3 grammes, 49 ecstasy tablets and two partially consumed tablets, 19 alprazolam pills, two happy five pills, and five grammes of ketamine.

Eko said the drugs were stored in a suitcase which investigators subsequently secured at the home of First Police Officer Dianita Agustina in the Tangerang area, Banten.

From the investigation, it was established that Miranti Afriana, on the instructions of her husband Didik, contacted First Police Officer Dianita and asked her to secure a suitcase located at Didik’s private residence in the Tangerang area.

Without suspicion, First Police Officer Dianita carried out Miranti Afriana’s instructions to collect and secure the suitcase in question.

“The reason First Police Officer DA carried out those instructions was because she received the order from MA. Furthermore, First Police Officer DA was conscious of the difference in rank between AKBP DPK and herself, and therefore did not dare to refuse the order or dispose of the suitcase for fear of destroying evidence,” Eko said.

For his actions, Didik has been charged under Article 609 paragraph (2) letter (a) of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 on Criminal Adjustment, and Article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 on Psychotropic Substances.

Didik faces a potential sentence of life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years’ imprisonment and/or a maximum fine of Category VI (Rp2 billion), as well as a maximum of five years’ imprisonment and/or a maximum fine of Category IV (Rp200 million).
