National Police Criminal Investigation Agency States “Ki Bedil” is Well-Known Among Street Criminals
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) has stated that the individual who manufactures illegal firearms, with initials TS alias “Ki Bedil”, has long been known among street crime perpetrators and illegal hunters. Head of the Mobile Brigade Criminal Investigation Unit (Resmob) of Bareskrim Polri, Senior Commissioner Arsya Khadafi, said that TS has a reputation in those circles due to the quality of his handmade weapons. “Brother TS or Ki Bedil is someone who is quite well-known among street crime perpetrators and also illegal hunters, where his products are very good, function well, and have high accuracy,” Arsya explained to reporters on Monday (13/4/2026). For a long time, he has been known to be slippery and cautious, making him difficult to detect by law enforcement authorities. “Brother TS alias Ki Bedil is quite slippery and cunning; all this time he has operated in the shadows and was only caught for the first time after 20 years of operation,” he said. In running his illegal business, Ki Bedil does not sell weapons directly to buyers. From the arrest of AS, police seized one .22 calibre pistol complete with ammunition and an unfinished homemade rifle. Transactions are conducted via an ordering system, where buyers make payment first before the goods are shipped to the destination address. Police revealed that the prices of the weapons sold range from Rp15 million to Rp20 million, depending on the type and level of difficulty in manufacturing them. “We hope that with Ki Bedil’s arrest, we can reduce the crime rate in society,” he stated. Currently, investigators are still developing leads to uncover the buyer network and other parties involved in the circulation of those illegal firearms. Previously reported, the Resmob Unit of Bareskrim Polri arrested two men with initials AS and TS alias Ki Bedil.
