National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo attended the Kompolnas Awards 2026 ceremony, expressing his hope that the event would be more than just a ceremonial presentation of awards to high-achieving personnel and work units.

“These awards must certainly not stop at a ceremony,” said the National Police Chief during his speech at the Ballroom Istana, Sari Pacific Hotel Jakarta, on Thursday (17/9/2026).

General Sigit requested that these achievements be followed up concretely through career development and the strengthening of organisational support, serving as a trigger to enhance performance and public service. He instructed the ranks of Astamarena, As SDM, and Aslog to immediately formulate follow-up steps for the award recipients. For high-achieving personnel, forms of appreciation may include career advancement, educational opportunities, and assignments to strategic positions.

For regional units, General Sigit requested additional support in the form of budgets and police operational equipment. Such support is expected to strengthen units in carrying out their policing duties.

Furthermore, the former Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim) expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Kompolnas for consistently organising this event, noting that this year marks the fifth edition since its inception.

“I appreciate and thank Kompolnas for consistently organising the Kompolnas Awards. If I am not mistaken, this is the fifth instalment,” said General Sigit.

He stated that Kompolnas holds a vital function as a strategic external supervisory partner to the National Police. Kompolnas, he continued, is tasked with providing input, evaluations, and processing public complaints.

Therefore, he believed that through the Kompolnas Awards, this supervisory institution also provides moral encouragement through objective assessments. “Kompolnas does not stop at evaluation but also participates in assessing work units. Alhamdulillah, today awards are given not only to work units but also to individual personnel,” explained General Sigit.

The Kompolnas Awards 2026 featured a broader and more comprehensive scope of assessment. In the work unit category, the competition included Polsek (sub-district police), Polres (district police), regional Polda ranks, up to the National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) units.

In the individual category, the assessment targeted members demonstrating integrity and innovation using the 5P approach (People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership), including appreciation for Peacekeepers, Conflict Zone Operation Task Forces, and personnel from the Polri Densus 88 Counter-Terrorism Unit. The entire winner determination process underwent strict evidence-based stages, ranging from initial selection and field visits to the Jury Council session.

On the same occasion, General Sigit urged the best-performing personnel and units to share their breakthroughs with other units. Good policing practices are expected to be replicated and adapted to the specific needs of each region.

“For those receiving awards from Kompolnas, we hope they can become role models for other work units. The selected personnel must also serve as examples and motivate their colleagues to work better,” he said.

General Sigit noted that public expectations for the Bhayangkara Corps are increasing. In relation to this, he reminded his ranks that the primary measure of institutional success is the presence of public safety and trust.

“Continue to work better, provide better service to the community, and realise a National Police force that is close to and loved by the people,” concluded General Sigit.
