National Police Chief Urges Garda Satya NKRI to Maintain Public Order and Support Government Programmes

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has invited the large family of Garda Satya NKRI to continue providing tangible contributions to the community, nation, and state. Sigit urged Garda Satya NKRI to participate in maintaining public security and order, as well as supporting government programmes.

This was stated by the National Police Chief during the 81st Indonesian Independence Day Thanksgiving and a gathering with Garda Satya NKUT, on Sunday (30/08/2026). Garda Satya NKRI serves as a forum for former members and sympathisers of Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) who have reaffirmed their national commitment and pledged loyalty to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). They have also committed to playing a positive role in maintaining public security and order alongside the National Police.

Sigit stated that the independence fought for by the nation’s founders is both a heritage and a mandate that must be continuously protected by every generation.

“Every generation has a responsibility to maintain unity, nurture peace, and strengthen brotherhood, so that Indonesia remains a shared home for every citizen to grow, work, worship, and provide benefits to others,” said Sigit.

He added that this spirit must be realised through real service. One way, Sigit noted, is by working together to maintain public security and order, nurturing unity and integrity, and strengthening community resilience.

Sigit also invited Garda Satya NKRI to take part in supporting various strategic government programmes aimed at increasing public welfare, strengthening economic independence, and building national resilience. According to him, protecting Indonesia must also involve ensuring that development proceeds smoothly and that its benefits are truly felt by the community.

These contributions can be realised across various fields, ranging from strengthening family economies, food security, and entrepreneurship, to social community activities and other productive endeavours. Sigit hopes that Garda Satya NKRI will continue to grow as a platform that brings benefits to the community while serving as part of the nation’s strength in maintaining unity and building Indonesia.

“Let us continue to live in harmony, maintain mutual trust, and fortify our unity and integrity,” said Sigit.
