National Police Chief: The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is a Shared Home, Including for Garda Satya NKRI

The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri), General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has asserted that the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) is a shared home that provides space for every citizen to play a role and contribute to the nation’s progress, including for Garda Satya NKRI.

“We have a shared home called NKRI, with doors that are always open for every child of the nation to play a part and struggle to realign their steps, and to build the nation’s future,” the National Police Chief stated in a report received in Jakarta on Sunday.

The Chief of Police made these remarks while attending the 81st Independence Day Thanksgiving event with the Garda Satya NKRI family in Surakarta, Central Java, on Sunday.

Garda Satya NKRI is a forum for former members and sympathisers of Jamaah Islamiyah who have reaffirmed their national commitment and declared their oath of loyalty to the NKRI.

The National Police Chief stated that diversity in religion, ethnicity, and culture, as well as various backgrounds, is a national wealth that must be continuously nurtured.

Furthermore, Sigit said that unity is the primary capital for making Indonesia stronger, more advanced, and more respected.

Therefore, the National Police Chief invited all elements of society to honour independence through real work and service, whether for their families, their environment, or the nation and state.

He expressed hope that this spirit of togetherness would continue to grow so that every citizen can take part in maintaining unity, preserving public security and order, and supporting national development.
