National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has reaffirmed that the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) is a shared home. He stated that every citizen has the space to play a role and contribute to the country’s advancement.

This message was delivered by the National Police Chief while attending the 81st Indonesian Independence Day thanksgiving ceremony and meeting with the extended family of Garda Satya NKRI on Sunday (30/08/2026). Garda Satya NKRI is a forum for former members and sympathisers of Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) who have reaffirmed their national commitment and pledged loyalty to the NKRI. Through this forum, they are committed to taking a positive role in maintaining public order and security, preserving unity, and contributing to the community, nation, and state.

“We have a shared home called the NKRI, with doors that are always open for every citizen to play a part and struggle to realign their steps and build the nation’s future,” said Sigit.

Sigit noted that diversity in religion, ethnicity, culture, region, and background is a national wealth that must be continuously nurtured. According to him, unity is the primary capital for making Indonesia stronger, more advanced, and more respected.

Sigit invited all elements of society to honour independence through tangible works and service. He expressed hope that this spirit of togetherness continues to grow so that every citizen can take part in maintaining unity, preserving public order, and supporting national development.
