National Police Chief Targets Construction of 1,500 Nutritional Service Units by 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has set a target to construct 1,500 Nutritional Service Units (SPPG) owned by the Police in 2026 to support the needs of the Free Nutritious Meal program.

“In 2026, the Police will target to continue construction to reach 1,500 SPPGs throughout Indonesia,” said Listyo in a written statement received in Jakarta, Saturday.

So far, according to Sigit, the Police force has 1,376 SPPGs spread across Indonesia.

The National Police Chief said that the construction of the SPPGs is to continue strengthening and fully supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s program in order to expand the reach of nutritional services.

“So that it can have a real impact on improving the health and welfare of the community,” he said.

In addition, the National Police Chief ensured that all SPPGs owned by the Police have several certifications in order to meet the standards of feasibility and food safety.

These certifications include Food Handler Certificates, Good Hygiene and Sanitation Certificates, Halal Product Guarantee Certificates, Water Laboratory Test Certificates, and consistently implementing food safety principles.

The thousand SPPGs owned by the Police consist of 736 SPPGs that have been operational, 172 in the operational preparation stage, and 468 SPPGs in the construction stage.

“If all of these SPPGs are operational, it is projected that they can benefit 3.44 million people and absorb 68,800 workers,” said Listyo Sigit.
