National Police Chief Showcases Corn Harvest Results to Prabowo: Yields Reach 3.9 Tonnes!
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo presented the results of the National Police’s corn harvest for the first and second quarters. According to him, all achievements reflect a commitment to realising national food self-sufficiency.
This was conveyed by Sigit in front of President Prabowo Subianto at the simultaneous corn harvest event for the second quarter, groundbreaking ceremony for 10 National Police storage facilities, and launch of operations for 166 National Police SPPG (Corn Seed Production Centres) in Tuban Regency, East Java.
“In 2025, the National Police successfully carried out corn planting on an area of 661,112 hectares with a harvest yield of 3.9 million tonnes,” said Sigit, Saturday, May 16, 2026.
According to Sigit, this result also supports increasing national corn production in 2025 by 6.74 percent or 1.8 million tonnes.
Sigit continued that to achieve the next target, there is potential land in 2026 of 1.37 million hectares spread throughout Indonesia.
“On January 8, 2026, we carried out the First Quarter Harvest on an area of 91 thousand hectares with a harvest yield reaching 884,129 tonnes,” said Sigit.
Furthermore, today, led by Mr. President, Sigit said they would carry out the simultaneous Second Quarter corn harvest on an area of 189,760 hectares with potential yields reaching 1.23 million tonnes.
“As much as 100 tons of corn from the harvest will be exported to Malaysia through the Jagoi Babang border, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan. Meanwhile, cooperatives buy from farmers at a price of Rp6,500/kg, and sell to Malaysia at a price of Rp7,000/kg. Thus, a profit margin of Rp500/kg is obtained,” Sigit explained.
Specifically in Tuban Regency, Sigit explained that they would carry out the harvest on an area of 101.5 hectares which is social forestry land. This comes from the land of four Gapoktan (Joint Farmer Groups), namely KTH Wono Lestari, LMDH Jenggolo Manik, LMDH Wono Mulyo, and PT. Semen Indonesia.
“From this area, the potential harvest yield is estimated to reach 609 tons, and all of the harvest will be sent to Bulog (State Logistics Agency) to support strengthening government food reserves and maintaining supply stability,” Sigit concluded.
