National Police Chief Reaffirms Commitment to Workers' Rights at KSPSI's 53rd Anniversary
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo attended the 53rd anniversary celebration of the All-Indonesia Workers’ Union Confederation (KSPSI), where he reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to championing workers’ rights.
“On this 53rd anniversary, our hope is that the struggle of all our colleagues, the struggle of our fellow workers to achieve prosperity, naturally becomes our shared endeavour. Therefore, the National Police will continue to support the cause of all our fellow workers,” the Police Chief said in Pasar Kemis, Tangerang Regency, on Monday (16/2/2026).
The Police Chief said the government also wants industrial relations to function well. Conducive industrial relations are expected to ensure company operations continue to run smoothly so that workers can also achieve prosperity.
“And this is naturally the hope of all of us, therefore we also want to encourage the business climate and investment climate in Indonesia to truly grow, so that it can open up the widest possible employment opportunities,” he said.
Additionally, the Police Chief spoke about Indonesia’s readiness to face global conditions that will have both direct and indirect domestic impacts. According to him, global conditions need to be mitigated as much as possible so they do not affect workers.
He called on the National Police’s Labour Affairs Desk, which was established in mid-2025, to optimally provide a resolution space for workers experiencing industrial disputes, including termination of employment.
“Therefore, the labour affairs desk must truly provide the best possible service to our fellow workers, particularly those affected by termination, so that our efforts to continue providing support are maintained,” he said.
“Furthermore, to accompany workers in fighting for their rights, and to continue our efforts to encourage the investment climate to keep growing, so that there are new workplaces for fellow workers who have been affected. This is something we continue to do,” General Sigit added.
