National Police Chief Promotes Four Officers to Commissioner General Rank

The Indonesian National Police (Polri) held a promotion ceremony at the National Police Headquarters in Jakarta on Tuesday, elevating four high-ranking officers to the rank of Commissioner General (Komjen), or three-star general. The ceremony was led by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and attended by key officials from the headquarters.

Kadiv Humas Polri (Head of the Public Relations Division) Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir stated that the four officers promoted to Komjen are Komjen Pol. Mulia Hasudungan Ritonga, Komjen Pol. Gatot Tri Suryanta, Komjen Pol. Helmy Santika, and Komjen Pol. Rudi Setiawan. Mulia Hasudungan Ritonga and Rudi Setiawan are now serving as high-ranking officers within the Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim), while Gatot Tri Suryanta is assigned to the Education and Training Institute (Lemdiklat) Polri.

In addition to the four three-star generals, 29 other high-ranking officers were promoted to the rank of Inspector General (Irjen), or two-star general. Among them are Irjen Pol. Agus Wijayanto, who serves as the North Kalimantan Police Chief, and Irjen Pol. Himawan Bayu Aji, who serves as the Southeast Sulawesi Police Chief. A further 54 middle-ranking officers were promoted to the rank of Brigadier General.

Overall, the promotion round encompassed 41,578 personnel, including 878 middle-ranking officers, 1,289 first officers, 37,930 non-commissioned officers, and 1,394 enlisted personnel. Inspector General Isir noted that the promotions represent a form of trust and a mandate from the institution that must be realised through improved service to the community. He expressed hope that all promoted personnel would continue to strengthen their integrity, professionalism, and leadership in providing protection and service to the public.
