National Police Chief Partners with Local MSMEs to Process Corn Cobs into 'Miracle Carbon' Briquettes
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, stated that the police are partnering with local MSMEs to develop the use of agricultural waste through the production of corn cob briquettes named ‘Miracle Carbon’.
This was conveyed by Sigit in his speech at the simultaneous corn harvest event and the groundbreaking of 10 police food security warehouses, which was attended by President Prabowo Subianto, on Saturday (16 May 2026).
“Furthermore, the police are also collaborating with local MSMEs to encourage the use of agricultural by-products through the development of corn cob briquettes named Miracle Carbon,” said Sigit, as quoted from the Setpres YouTube broadcast, Saturday.
“As an alternative energy for household needs, supporting MSMEs, warming chicken coops and replacing firewood,” he said.
In addition to partnering with MSMEs, Sigit said that the police are also introducing innovative coal-based precision fertiliser to support increased agricultural productivity.
He explained that the fertiliser is able to increase soil pH levels while restoring nutrients.
“Coal-based precision fertiliser is useful for raising the pH by one to two levels while restoring nutrients so that it can enrich the soil and make plants healthier,” Sigit explained.
“This innovation has been used on corn agricultural land in West Java and Papua provinces,” he said.
On that occasion, Sigit also reported on the achievements of the police’s food security program throughout 2025.
Meanwhile, in the simultaneous corn harvest in the second quarter of 2026, the harvested area reached 189,760 hectares with a potential harvest of around 1.23 million tons.
