National Police Chief Monitors Eid Holiday Travel at Surabaya Gubeng Station: Greets Passengers and Distributes Gifts
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo conducted a direct inspection of readiness for the 2026 Eid holiday travel rush at Surabaya Gubeng Central Station in East Java on Sunday morning, 15 March 2026. The inspection was undertaken to ensure security and comfort for those using railway transportation.
General Sigit and his entourage arrived at Surabaya Gubeng Central Station at approximately 09:30 Western Indonesian Time. The National Police Chief’s arrival was welcomed by East Java’s regional leadership board and local railway authorities.
The National Police Chief began the inspection by receiving a briefing on security and public order from Surabaya Metropolitan Police Commissioner Kombes Luthfie Sulistiawan and Surabaya Gubeng Central Station Head Fadjar Wahyudi. The briefing detailed high-risk area mapping and security protocols implemented at the station.
After receiving the briefing, the National Police Chief proceeded to inspect the Health Post to ensure medical personnel were prepared to assist travellers requiring healthcare support.
General Sigit subsequently visited the departure lounge and boarded an additional Pasundan train carriage bound for Bandung. The National Police Chief took time to converse with holiday travellers to hear directly about their travel experiences.
Beyond greeting passengers, the National Police Chief also distributed gift packages to travellers as an expression of appreciation and the police’s concern for the community. For child passengers, 175 toy packages were provided to entertain them during the lengthy journey. General Sigit prayed for safe and enjoyable travel for all holiday-makers, in accordance with the 2026 slogan “Safe Holiday, Happy Family”.
The National Police Chief also gave special attention to 107 combined personnel on duty, comprising TNI military personnel, police officers, railway police, healthcare workers, customer service staff and porters. Symbolically, the National Police Chief presented 150 gift packages to representatives of the personnel.
Present at the location were East Java Deputy Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak, East Java Regional Police Chief Irjen Nanang Avianto, and Brawijaya V Military Command Deputy Brigadier General Zainul Bahar.
During this Surabaya inspection, the National Police Chief was accompanied by senior officers from the National Police Headquarters including Intelligence and Security Command Head Komjen Yuda Gustawan, Deputy Operations Chief Komjen Mohamad Fadil Imran, Human Resources Deputy Irjen Anwar, Public Relations Head Irjen Johnny Eddizon Isir, and Traffic Police Commander Irjen Agus Suryonugroho.
