National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo Reveals Prabowo's Tactics to Curb Global Conflict
Bandung, VIVA – National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has outlined concrete steps the Indonesian government is taking in response to the intensifying global conflict. Amid rising international tensions, President Prabowo Subianto is said to be actively conducting diplomacy with a number of countries. The statement was made by Sigit during a Ramadan gathering at the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jawa Barat).
In his speech, Sigit noted that the global situation was not looking good, particularly following the escalation between Iran and the United States and Israel. He hoped the developing conflict would not be protracted and could soon reach a resolution.
He said the Indonesian government remains committed to pursuing a free and active foreign policy as a non-aligned country to promote world peace. “Of course we want the current global situation to be resolved soon, and the government is actively working to help bring about an end to the conflicts so that peace can emerge,” Sigit said, cited on Thursday, 5 March 2026.
He stressed that President Prabowo is not standing idly by in the face of the warming global situation. “The President every day engages in discussions with several countries in Southeast Asia and the Middle East to discuss how the escalating global tensions can be brought under control,” he said.
Not only through international diplomacy, the President is said to be consolidating domestically as well. Inputs from various parties have been gathered to formulate mitigation steps to address the impacts of global conflict.
On that occasion, Sigit also warned of potential economic and social impacts if the global escalation is not managed well. Therefore, he asked all segments of the nation to support government programmes, particularly in strengthening national food and energy security. “On the one hand we face the escalation and its impacts, which, if not managed well, will be felt in the economy, and if we cannot guard against it, could lead to social problems,” Sigit said.
