National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo Continues to Strengthen Polri's Employment Desk, Ensuring Worker Protection
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasised the Polri institution’s commitment to continuously strengthen the role of Polri’s Employment Desk. This step aims to ensure maximum protection for workers. This was conveyed by General Sigit while attending a Ramadan gathering and Iftar with KSPSI West Java at PT NOK, Cikarang, on Friday (6 March 2026). On this occasion, General Sigit also encouraged improvements in human resource quality and workers’ welfare. ‘Then, related to protection against industrial-relations problems faced by fellow workers,’ General Sigit said at the scene. One crucial point he raised was protection for female workers. General Sigit assured that the Polri Employment Desk will synergise with the Directorate of Crimes Against Women and Children (PPA) to provide special services for female workers. ‘Including female workers who may face circumstances that certainly require legal protection in relation to violence against women,’ he said. ‘This also becomes our concern, from the Employment Desk. Special services will be provided, and Mr. Cahyono will assist in accompanying and assisting,’ he added. To enhance workers’ competencies to be globally competitive, General Sigit invited the facilities of the National Police Education and Training School (SPN) across Indonesia to be used as training venues for workers. This aligns with the government’s and KSPSI’s efforts to vigorously build Work Training Centres (BLK) and Training Institutes (Pusdiklat). ‘I ask the ranks of Polri wherever they are, SPN (Sekolah Polisi Negara) that we have, if they want to cooperate to provide training, I invite you. So that anywhere in the industrial areas to be built, there is an SPN; if there is no training place, please use it,’ he said. General Sigit urged that training include specialised skills demanded by the international market. Among them are underwater welding and nursing. ‘This will continue to be one of the things we do to provide space, both for employment opportunities and welfare, so that colleagues can continue to compete with the constellation or competition we face with the countries that exist,’ he concluded. Present at the location were KSPSI Advisers Council, namely Kabaintelkam Polri Commissioner General Yuda Gustawan (Mitigation of Industrial Relations Issues), Commissioner General Imam Widodo (Organisations), Ferriyady Hartadinata (UMKM and Cooperatives), Inspector General (Ret.) Cahyono Wibowo (Law Enforcement). The Police Chief was accompanied by Kabareskrim Polri Commissioner General Syahardiantono, Public Relations Division of Polri Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, Head of Forensic and Medical Division of Polri Inspector General Asep Hendradiana, Karobinkar SSDM Polri Brigadier General Langgeng Purnomo. Also present were Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri and Dirtipidter Bareskrim Polri as the Task Force Head of Polri’s Employment Desk Brigadier General Moh Irhamni.
