National Police Chief Leads Inauguration and Handover of Several Regional Police Chiefs Tonight
The Indonesian National Police (Polri) is holding the inauguration and handover of duties (sertijab) for several new senior officials tonight. In addition to the senior officials, the inauguration of several Regional Police Chiefs (Kapolda) will also take place.
The inauguration is being held behind closed doors at the Rupatama of the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, on Saturday (3/10/2026). The ceremony will be directly led by the Chief of National Police, General Suyudi Ario Seto.
“Today, at approximately 19:00 (WIB), the Chief of Police will personally lead the inauguration and handover for several senior officials, both within the National Police Headquarters and several Regional Police Chiefs,” said the Head of Public Relations of the National Police Division, Brigadier General Trunoyloydo Wisno Andiko, to journalists at the location.
Observations at the site showed that since 18:00 WIB, the high-ranking officers to be inaugurated had gathered at Rupatama, accompanied by their wives wearing the characteristic pink Bhayangkari uniforms.
Officers arrived in succession until the event commenced around 19:00 WIB. Notable attendees included the Inspector General of Internal Supervision of the National Police, Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri, the Inspector General of Internal Supervision, Whisnu Hermawan Februanto, and the Regional Police Chief of Riau Islands, Inspector General Suhendri.
“There will be 25 handover ceremonies, while two others will involve direct inaugurations by the Chief of Police, specifically for the Astamarena and Korspripim positions,” Trunoyudo added.
He noted that the inauguration and handover process is part of organisational dynamics and an effort to maintain the continuity of policing duties.
“This is a routine activity within our organisational structure. The Chief of Police has emphasised the importance of the National Police’s presence amongst the community. This acceleration will ensure that organisational dynamics move faster to meet public expectations,” he concluded.
Previously, the National Police conducted a reshuffle involving 88 high-ranking (Pati) and middle-ranking (Pamen) officers. This mutation was formalised in the National Police Chief’s Telegram Letter Number ST/2205/X/KEP./2026, dated 2 October 2026.
