National Police Chief Launches Operation Ketupat 2026 to Ensure Safe Homecoming and Family Celebration
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto led the Operation Ketupat 2026 Troop Deployment Ceremony. In his address, General Sigit reaffirmed joint commitment to realising “Safe Homecoming, Happy Family” for all Indonesian citizens.
The Operation Ketupat 2026 deployment ceremony was held at Monas Crossing Field, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 12 March 2026 afternoon. Conducted simultaneously across Indonesia, the ceremony involved 3,363 combined personnel at the central level.
The agenda began with symbolic ribbon attachment for the operation by the National Police Chief and TNI Commander to representatives of Operation Ketupat 2026 personnel, marking the commencement of this humanitarian operation.
“This troop deployment ceremony represents a final readiness check of personnel, equipment and infrastructure, whilst demonstrating cross-sectoral commitment and synergy to ensure Operation Ketupat 2026 succeeds, enabling Idul Fitri holiday travel and celebrations of the 1447 H Feast to proceed safely, comfortably, orderly and smoothly,” General Sigit stated in his address.
Following the National Police Chief and TNI Commander’s remarks, they conducted inspections of troops and vehicles. General Sigit also presented 150 KLX 150 cc trail motorcycle units to the Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra Police Regional Commands to serve the public, particularly during Operation Ketupat 2026.
In his address, General Sigit emphasised that this ceremony was not merely ceremonial, but a final readiness check of personnel, equipment and infrastructure, demonstrating genuine cross-sectoral synergy to succeed in this annual humanitarian operation.
“This troop deployment ceremony represents a readiness check of us all, whilst demonstrating our commitment to ensure the holiday travel and Idul Fitri celebrations of the 1447 H Feast proceed safely, comfortably, orderly and smoothly,” General Sigit stated.
The National Police Chief also underlined the importance of maintaining domestic security stability amid dynamic global developments. Smooth holiday travel flow was considered an important indicator in sustaining national economic growth momentum.
“The success of Operation Ketupat is our collective responsibility. Continuously strengthen solidarity and synergy in every task execution. Together we shall realise ‘Safe Homecoming, Happy Family’,” he asserted.
Concluding his address, General Sigit delivered a touching message to all personnel who would be assigned to security and service posts.
“Good luck in your duty. Treat each assignment as an honour, each challenge as a call to duty, and every service to society, nation and state as a field of worship to gain the pleasure of Almighty God,” General Sigit concluded.
Operation Ketupat 2026 itself will deploy various supporting technologies, ranging from Command Centre mobile units to ETLE systems, to monitor traffic flow in real-time to minimise field obstacles.
Attending the event were Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs General (Ret.) Djamari Chhaniago and several senior officials from the Political and Security Coordinating Ministry, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi and directors general from the Transport Ministry, National Search and Rescue Agency Head Air Vice Marshal Mohammad Syafii, National Meteorological and Geophysical Agency Chief Teuku Faisal Fathani, and Jasa Raharja CEO Muhammad Awaluddin. Representatives of other related stakeholders also attended, as did Deputy National Police Chief Senior Commissioner Dedi Prasetyo and all major heads of the National Police Headquarters.
In Operation Ketupat 2026, General Sigit acts as the Operation Policy Coordinator, assisted by Deputy National Police Chief Senior Commissioner Dedi Prasetyo as Deputy Coordinator. Technically, the operation will be led by Traffic Police Chief Senior Commissioner Agus Suryonugroho as Operation Commander. All Operation Ketupat 2026 officials attended this working meeting.
