National Police Chief: Integrated Service Decree Proves State's Presence in Protecting Victims

The Indonesian National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, stated that the signing of the Joint Decree (SKB) regarding the Pilot Programme for Integrated Services for Women and Children in Jakarta Province serves as evidence of the state’s presence for its citizens.

“What is being implemented today is certainly a form of the state’s presence and support for services provided to women and children who have experienced crime or criminal acts,” General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday.

He expressed hope that the integrated services would provide better care for women and children who are victims of violence, while simultaneously ensuring the confidentiality of victims throughout the case handling process.

According to him, every report received must be handled thoroughly without creating new problems for the victims.

In addition to receiving reports, the integrated services will also actively reach out to victims to ensure they receive the necessary assistance and protection.

“We want it to be so that the victim only needs to tell their story once, and the state takes action for them. It is not the victim who chases the service, but the service that comes to the victim,” said Veronica.

The government signed the SKB regarding the Pilot Programme for Integrated Services for Women and Children in Jakarta Province to establish a more effective, integrated, and equitable protection system for women and children.

The decree was signed by the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung; the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Arifah Fauzi; the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo; the Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid; the Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas; the Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin; and the Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf.
