National Police Chief: Integrated Service Decree Proves State's Presence in Protecting Victims

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has stated that the signing of a Joint Decree (SKB) regarding the Pilot Programme for the Implementation of Integrated Services for Women and Children in DKI Jakarta Province is proof of the state’s presence for the community. “What is being carried out today is a form of the state’s presence and support for services for women and children who have experienced crime or criminal acts,” said General Listyo Sigit Prabowo during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday. He expressed hope that the integrated service will provide better services for women and children who are victims of violence, whilst also guaranteeing the protection of victims’ confidentiality during the case handling process. According to him, every report received must be handled thoroughly without creating new problems for the victim. In addition to receiving reports, the integrated service will also actively reach out to victims to ensure they obtain the necessary assistance and protection. “We want victims to only need to tell their story once, and the state moves for the victim. It is not the victim chasing services, but the service coming to the victim,” said Veronica. The government signed the SKB on the Pilot Programme for the Implementation of Integrated Services for Women and Children in DKI Jakarta Province to establish a more effective, integrated, and just protection system for women and children. The SKB was signed by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid, Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf.
