National Police Chief Inaugurates Six Regional Police Chiefs and Head of Traffic Corps

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo officially inaugurated six regional police chiefs and the Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Indonesian National Police. The inauguration and handover ceremony took place at the National Police Headquarters (Rupattama Mabes Polri) in Jakarta on Saturday.

Sigit replaced Aceh Police Chief Inspector General Marzuki Ali Basyah with Inspector General Ruddi Setiawan, who previously served as Head of the Police Research and Development Centre (Kapuslitbang Polri).

West Sumatra Police Chief Commissioner General Gatot Tri Suryanta was replaced by North Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Djati Wiyoto Abadhy. West Java Police Chief Commissioner General Rudi Setiawan was replaced by Inspector General Pipit Rismanto, who previously served as West Kalimantan Police Chief. The position of West Kalimantan Police Chief is now filled by Inspector General Alberd Teddy Benhard Sianipar.

Furthermore, the position of North Kalimantan Police Chief, vacated by Inspector General Djati Wiyoto Abadhy, is now held by Inspector General Agus Wijayanto. Lastly, Southwest Papua Police Chief Brigadier General Gatot Haribowo was replaced by Brigadier General Yulius Audie Sonny Latuheru.

Meanwhile, Inspector General Wibowo has been entrusted with the position of Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas Polri), replacing Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho.

Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, stated that the inauguration and handover are part of the organisation’s dynamics, continuously carried out to maintain leadership continuity and improve the quality of police service to the public.

‘The inauguration and handover are part of career development, leadership regeneration, and organisational refreshment. This is a strategic step to make the National Police organisation more adaptive, professional, and capable of meeting the ever-evolving challenges of its duties,’ Isir said in a written statement on Saturday.

Isir explained that job rotations are a common mechanism within the organisation as a form of human resource development and an effort to strengthen the execution of duties at both the central and regional levels.

‘We hope that the officials entrusted with new mandates can quickly adapt, continue various ongoing programmes, and continuously improve the quality of service, protection, and shelter to the public,’ he said.
