National Police Chief Inaugurates Riau Police Headquarters Mosque Renovation, Establishes Forest Fire Prevention and Online Taxi Task Forces
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo inaugurated the renovation of Al-Adzim Mosque at Riau Police Headquarters in Pekanbaru on Tuesday, 17 March 2026 in the evening. In addition to the inauguration of the place of worship, the National Police Chief also formally established the Forest Fire Prevention (PHK) Task Force for Riau Province and the Online Motorcycle Taxi Public Order Task Force (Ojol Kamtibmas Presisi).
General Sigit arrived at the venue at approximately 4.30 PM local time, accompanied by the Chairperson of Commission IV of the House of Representatives Siti Hediati Hariyadi, commonly known as Titiek Soeharto, and the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni.
Accompanying the National Police Chief at the event were the National Intelligence Deputy Commander of the National Police General Yuda Gustawan, the Criminal Investigation Deputy Commander General Syahardiantono, the Mobile Brigade Commander General Ramdani Hidayat, and the Public Relations Deputy Commander Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by the National Police Chief signing a plaque commemorating the renovation of Al-Adzim Mosque. Following the plaque signing, General Sigit and his entourage took the opportunity to inspect the results of the mosque renovation, which now appears more representative for both police personnel and the general public.
The event continued with the formal establishment of the Forest Fire Prevention Task Force for Riau Province and the Online Motorcycle Taxi Public Order Task Force. The National Police Chief symbolically presented vests to representatives of the task forces and online motorcycle taxi drivers as a sign of the start of their active role in maintaining public order and assisting in the prevention of forest fires in the Riau region.
Ramadan Fellowship and Aid for Orphans
The inauguration event was also accompanied by a communal fast-breaking gathering with elements of Riau’s community. Prior to the fast-breaking time, the National Police Chief, accompanied by Titiek Soeharto, distributed Ramadan aid packages to orphans from Amanah Orphanage (Muslim faith) and Anugerah Orphanage (Christian faith) in Pekanbaru.
Also attending the event were Deputy Minister of Forestry Rohmat Marzuki, Acting Governor of Riau SF Hariyanto, the Commander of Riau Police Inspector General Herry Heryawan, the Commander of Military Area XIX/Tuanku Tambusai Major General Agus Hadi Waluyo, as well as religious leaders and community figures from across Riau Province.
The event concluded with a Ramadan religious sermon and communal prayers, followed by a communal fast-breaking gathering that took place in an atmosphere of warmth and fellowship.
