Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Police Chief, General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and senior police officials held an iftar event with community organisations, youth organisations, and students to foster unity.
“Of course, this activity is part of our efforts to continue strengthening unity in order to support the government’s programmes in realising the Astacita programmes,” he said when met after the event at STIK-PTIK Polri, Jakarta, on Thursday.
The leader of the National Police said that the current global situation is not good. Indonesia must also continue to prepare to face the implications of these impacts.
Therefore, unity is key to ensuring that Indonesia can continue to grow well.
“Because the stability of security and public order is one of the main assets as a prerequisite for us to carry out development,” he said.
On the other hand, the National Police Chief ensured that the police will continue to provide space for students and young people to continue expressing their aspirations because this is part of democracy.
The police will also continue to provide the best service to the next generation to express their voices. He also affirmed that the National Police is always open to criticism.
“The police are also ready to be evaluated and criticised so that the police can be in accordance with the mandate and the spirit of reform to become a civilian police that can be close to and loved by the community,” he said.
According to him, by maintaining a healthy and conducive democratic climate and security situation, it will be possible to realise the shared vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045.
“Therefore, I urge that this institution continue to be maintained and cared for so that together we can maintain, direct, and realise what is the great aspiration of our nation to achieve national goals towards a Golden Indonesia 2045,” he said.
On the same occasion, the Deputy Minister of Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection (P2MI) and Chairman of the PP Pemuda Muhammadiyah, Dzulfikar Ahmad Tawalla, appreciated this iftar event.
“This is a consolidation of goodness carried out by the National Police together with all friends from youth organisations, community organisations, civil society, and of course, friends from the student community who have always been in synergy in realising Astacita as initiated by President Prabowo Subianto,” he said.
He added that this activity will further strengthen unity. He also hopes that activities that strengthen this synergy will continue to be improved in the future.
