National Police Chief Has Not Received the Mahaputera Star, Prabowo: The President Will Award It

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto revealed that the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has never received the Mahaputera Star award.

Prabowo then joked that he would be the one to present the award.

This was conveyed by Prabowo while attending the simultaneous mass corn harvest and the groundbreaking ceremony for 10 Polri food security warehouses, Saturday (16/5/2026).

“It turns out that I see the Polri achieving, achieving, has the National Police Chief never received the Mahaputera Star? Later, President Prabowo will give the star,” said Prabowo, quoted from the YouTube broadcast of the Presidential Secretariat, Saturday.

According to him, the success of an organisation is inseparable from the quality of its leadership.

“If it’s good, we have to admit it’s good, if it’s good, we admit it’s good. And in an organisation, if the organisation is good, it means the leader is good,” he said.

“If a football team, if it wins, then the manager is good, the coach is good, the team captain is good,” he said.

Prabowo said that leaders who fail to achieve targets should be evaluated.

“If it’s not right, remove them. Simple. This is what life is,” he said.

“It turns out that I gave a four-year target, one year can be achieved. Oh, I was confused, so I finally had to give the main service star,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo also mentioned that the TNI Commander, General Agus Subiyanto, will receive a similar award to the National Police Chief, namely the Mahaputera Star.
