Jakarta – National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has expressed condolences over the death of Indonesia’s sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. I extend my deepest condolences over the passing of the late sixth Vice President, the late Bapak Try Sutrisno. May the departed achieve a good ending and may his entire bereaved family be given strength and perseverance,” he said in Jakarta on Monday.

Sigit remembered Sutrisno as a figure who rendered immense service during his lifetime and was one of the senior figures who served as a role model.

“Farewell to our national hero. We will always remember all his exemplary conduct and good deeds. May he be granted the best place beside Him,” he said.

Indonesia’s sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno passed away at Gatot Soebroto Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) in Jakarta on Monday morning at approximately 7:00 a.m. WIB.

Information regarding Sutrisno’s death was conveyed through a message issued on behalf of the family and the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), and was confirmed by several officials from the Presidential Secretariat and the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres).

According to the information, the body of the former Vice President will be washed at RSPAD before being taken to a residence of mourning at Jalan Purwakarta Number 6, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
