National Police Chief emphasises TNI-Polri commitment to supporting President's programmes
Jakarta — Indonesia’s National Police Chief (Kapolri) has emphasised the need for TNI-Polri personnel to ensure the success of President Prabowo Subianto’s entire policy agenda.
The statement was made during a joint breaking-of-fast event between TNI-Polri at Bhayangkara Field, National Police Headquarters in Jakarta, on Wednesday evening.
“Certainly, TNI-Polri are obligated to safeguard and secure these programmes,” said Sigit.
Sigit noted that President Prabowo continues to make strong efforts to create world peace amidst current global conflicts, including joining the Board of Peace (BoP).
“Therefore, the President is attempting to join the BoP so there remains an opportunity to discuss peace in the Middle East, and this is what he is currently doing,” he said.
He added that the President is also continuing to work to maintain Indonesia’s economic growth despite global upheaval. These efforts, he stated, create space for Indonesian industries to continue production.
“All these efforts are undertaken by the government to ensure Indonesia’s economy continues to function, and employment opportunities open up,” he said.
Furthermore, he continued, the President is promoting various programmes, including Astacita and other national priority programmes, which are expected to stimulate the economy and create new jobs.
Additionally, he said, the President continues to push various programmes to make Indonesia self-reliant, starting with food and energy security.
“We all work hard, particularly society and TNI-Polri as a frontline force in directly maintaining food security, in planting rice and maize,” he said.
Sigit also noted that the President is promoting downstream processing programmes and human resources development initiatives to improve quality.
“These are part of efforts to grow the economy. These are future programmes that the government will continue to promote,” Sigit said.
