National Police Chief Emphasises Synergy in Supporting Government Programmes at PUI Anniversary
Jakarta (ANTARA) — National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasised the importance of synergy among all elements of society in supporting government programmes whilst attending the peak celebration of the anniversary of Persatuan Ummat Islam (Islamic Unity Organisation/PUI) in Majalengka, West Java, on Monday.
According to an official statement, the National Police Chief stressed that the success of all government programmes requires synergy and collaboration among all elements of the nation.
Such synergy, he said, is the primary key to facing all challenges at both the global and domestic levels.
He also called on the public to nurture Indonesia’s diversity so that it may become a strength for progress and development in a better direction.
He warned that if society continues to be pitted against one another, development and the aspirations towards Golden Indonesia 2045 would be difficult to achieve smoothly.
“No matter how clever we are, no matter how capable each element of this nation is, if we stand alone, moving with sectoral egos, it will be difficult to bring about progress. Progress can only happen if we are all harmonious and united,” he said.
At the close of his address, the four-star police general stated that President Prabowo Subianto has launched the Astacita priority programme to support the vision of an Advanced Indonesia towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
In support of that vision, he continued, the National Police has been actively involved in a number of government priority programmes, ranging from food security through maize self-sufficiency to the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme through the National Police’s SPPG facilities.
He therefore called on PUI to help monitor negative elements in society, from online gambling and predatory online lending to narcotics.
“I hope PUI will truly participate actively in monitoring these three issues because they pose a threat to the younger generation, a threat to our nation. Why? We must proceed according to the roadmap to realise the aspirations towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” he said.
