National Police Chief Emphasises Solidarity, Urges East Java Islamic and Government Leaders to Support Government Programmes
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo held a Ramadan visit in East Java with religious and government leaders. During this sacred month networking agenda, he emphasised the importance of solidarity among all parties in maintaining national security stability.
General Sigit delivered these remarks during the Ramadan visit at East Java Regional Police Headquarters in Surabaya on Saturday, 14 March 2026. The event, attended by various segments of society including religious figures, student activists and motorcycle taxi operator communities, provided an opportunity for the National Police Chief to urge all parties to support the strategic programmes of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration.
In his address, General Sigit highlighted the intensifying global situation, particularly the conflict in the Middle East. He stated that the impact of these international tensions directly affects domestic food and energy resilience.
“Indonesia must be able to stand on its own feet. This certainly requires cooperation and support from all parties, from all Indonesian people,” General Sigit said.
General Sigit affirmed that maintaining security stability is a prerequisite for implementing national resilience programmes. He cited Indonesia’s successful navigation of the COVID-19 pandemic thanks to the unity of all national elements.
“The key is to maintain unity and integrity. Government officials, religious leaders, society, entrepreneurs—all united so we can overcome crises quickly,” he added.
The National Police Chief also invited East Java religious leaders and community figures to educate the public about priority government programmes under President Prabowo, including industrial value chain development and renewable energy expansion. This is considered important to optimise the demographic bonus opportunity.
“We must prepare our human resources and the demographic bonus occurs only once. If we cannot navigate it well, our hope to leap from a developing country to a developed nation will become difficult,” he emphasised.
Attending the event were prominent Islamic scholars including the principal of Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School KH Anwar Mansur, Chairman of the Islamic Scholars Council National Assembly KH Miftaqul Ahyar, and Chairman of the Indonesian Ulemas Council KH Anwar Iskandar.
Also present were East Java Deputy Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak, East Java Regional Parliament Chairman Musyafak Rouf, Commander of Military Region V/Brawijaya Major General Rudy Saladin, and East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nanang Avianto.
During this official visit, the National Police Chief was accompanied by senior National Police Headquarters officials, including Police Intelligence Chief Inspector General Yuda Gustawan, National Police Chief Operations Assistant Inspector General Mohamad Fadil Imran, National Police Chief Human Resources Assistant Inspector General Anwar, National Police Public Relations Chief Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, and National Police Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho.
